The Story

Mediaversity Reviews began life on Tumblr in December 2016 as a place for Li Lai to capture her thoughts on representation in television and film. The website was launched in May 2017 to house the reviews and has since added research briefs and a small stable of diverse contributors.

Mediaversity is a self-funded passion project and earns no revenue, guaranteeing that no special interests can sway its research or reviews. By day, Li works as a visual designer and is currently employed at a bipartisan nonprofit for immigration reform in New York City. Her professional background includes experiential marketing and fashion design.
